Master Naturalists to offer volunteer training in spring

The Middle Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists will offer volunteer training in the spring of 2025. The program involves Zoom classes with some Saturday field trips.
To become a Virginia Master Naturalist, you must complete a basic training course (a minimum of 40 hours of both field and classroom experiences). To become a Certified Virginia Master Naturalist, you must complete 40 hours of volunteer service and eight additional hours of continuing education within one year following completion of basic training. To maintain certification, you must complete 40 additional hours of service and participate in eight hours of continuing education annually.
Volunteers are sought to serve as educators, citizen scientists, as well as stewards of the area’s natural lands. People are invited to learn about the environment and lend a helping hand with important project on and around the Middle Peninsula.
