This massive stump is from the remains of a willow oak tree on Ambrose Drive in Wicomico. The old tree was removed by VDOT last week following the recommendation of arborists. The tree was partially in the state right-of-way and extended over the road. According to VDOT Communications Manager Kelly Hannon, a customer called VDOT with concern over the tree’s condition after several large limbs had fallen.
