Mary Hay Beasley, age 80, left her earthly home in Gloucester and entered her Heavenly home on Monday, July 31, 2023. She was born in Dickenson County, Virginia, on January 15, 1943 to the late Curtis and Clara Webb Hay. Mary graduated from Haysi High School and retired from Bell Atlantic Telephone Company (formerly C&P Telephone Company) in 1995. Sons, Charles R. Rice, and Derek R. Beasley; sisters, Judy Garrett, and Janny Reedy, and brother, Roger L. Hay, preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate (they just celebrated 40 years of marital bliss), Dick Beasley; daughters, Kimberly R. Herrin (Chris), and Stephanie B. Latham (Jimmy); grandsons, Quinton King (Courtney), J.T. Latham (Marianna); sisters, Cleta H. Bartley, Jewell M. Hay, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends Friday, August 4, 2023, from 11-11:45 a.m. at Newington Baptist Church, 6169 Main Street, Gloucester, Va. 23061 followed by a Celebration of Life service at noon. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
