Martha Bradshaw Haab, age 88, of Mathews, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012.
She was born in Kinston, N.C., on April 19, 1923 to Robert Ashley and Ada Bradshaw. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. In 1964 she helped her husband start the G.W. Haab Co., Inc., in Richmond, Va., which operated for 30 years. She was a member of Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon W. Haab, and is survived by her daughter, Vickie Haab Herndon (Greg Sopin) of Glen Allen; her sons, Gordon W. Haab Jr. (Cherokee) of Mechanicsville, and Robert H. Haab (Connie) of Port Haywood, Va.; eight grandchildren, Louis Herndon, Gordy Haab, Peggy Haab Etheridge, Amanda Haab Bishop, Kelly Haab, Kimberley Herndon, Paul Herndon and Scott Herndon, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Marie Sult, Mary Alice Beamon and Eleanor Baker, along with two brothers, Herbert Bradshaw and James Bradshaw.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, and will be conducted by the Rev. Harry Loyd in Mathews Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in H.C. Smither Cemetery, Hudgins, Va. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, from 7-8:30 p.m. in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews.
