Market Days to have new chairperson

Mathews Market Days will be held again this year, with new chairperson Megan Evjen heading up the event.
The first meeting of the Market Days Committee will be held next Thursday, March 30, at 6 p.m. in the historic courthouse on Court Street. Anyone who is interested in helping is welcome to attend, said a press release. The committee is looking for help with vendor coordination, marketing and advertising, and traffic control.
Anyone interested in being a “weekend warrior” or who is not part of the committee but would like to volunteer during the festival is also welcome to attend.
New chairperson
Evjen, a Gloucester resident who works in the Mathews County Administration office, agreed to take the helm this year after discovering that former chair Morgan Hudgins would not be able to do it because of her upcoming wedding and extended cross-country honeymoon trip.
