Market Days to be held Sept. 8 and 9

Mathews Market Days will be held Sept. 8 and 9, the first Friday and Saturday after Labor Day. The two-day event features, arts and crafts, food and informational vendors, as well as live music, a children’s area and a car show.
The Mathews Market Days Committee is hard at work all summer long to make sure the event is enjoyable for locals and visitors alike. The committee welcomed Megan Evjen as its new chairperson.
This year’s theme for the poster contest is “Mathews: The Pearl of the Chesapeake.” Everyone is invited to submit a piece of artwork of any media that fits that theme. More information, including due dates and the official application and entry forms, will be available soon.
The annual car show will be held at Thomas Hunter Middle School from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9. There is a $10 donation per entry. The car show benefits Mathews first responders.
