Margaret P. Brown, 88, of Gloucester, Va., passed away on April 4, 2014 at Walter Reed Convalescent Center, Gloucester.
Margaret was born in Dumfries, Scotland, and was raised and educated in London, England. Margaret was employed for many years as a CNA at the Saluda Nursing Home and the Riverside Nursing Home in Gloucester.
She survived the London Blitz during World War II. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Purdie; her sister, Jacqueline Murray, and her brother, William Purdie, who was killed in action in World War II while serving in the Royal Air Force.
She is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline Strand and Lyn Brown of Utah, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church Cemetery, Kilmarnock.
