Margaret E. Montgomery, 94, formerly of Ridgewood Avenue, died on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, Kingsville, Ohio.

Born on July 6, 1929 in Naxera, Virginia, the daughter of Noah Franklin and Margie Evelyn (Robbins) Deal. She married the love of her life, Garnet Montomery, on April 20, 1948, and together they shared 58 years until his passing in 2006.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a waitress at the Kozy Country Corner, now Kay’s Place, for many years. A member of the First Church of God in Ashtabula, her family was everything to her. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and got tremendous enjoyment visiting her brothers and sisters in Virginia.

Margaret loved to travel, go out to breakfast with friends and family, and play BINGO. Most of all she enjoyed family gatherings and sharing memories with her family.

Her survivors include her children, Linda (Bruce) Pepple, Sandra (Brian) Hubbard, and David Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Ricky, Jason, Kristi, Cory, Brandi, Katrina, and Steven; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Tegan and Cameron, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet Wayne Montgomery, on December 3, 2006; daughter, Vivian Green; brothers, James Deal in infancy and Edwin C. Deal, Noah F. Deal Jr., and John Deal; sisters, Katherine Edmonson, Fannie Clemens, Peggy Ann Hicks, and Alice Brown, and her parents.

Services were held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, with Pastor Jeff Combs of the First Church of God conducting. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.

Calling hours were on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from noon until the time of service at 1 o’clock at the funeral home.
