Margaret J. Smith, age 83, of Raleigh, N.C. and Gloucester, Va., died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.

 

She was a native of Concord, N.C., and a member of Emmanuel U.M.C., Mobjack, Va.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan B. Smith Sr.

 

She is survived by three sons, Daniel B. Smith Jr. of Portsmouth, Va., Phillip G. Smith (Jennifer) of Raleigh, N.C., and Thomas Michael Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Amanda Kay Smith of Richmond, Va., Hunter Bryon Smith of Virginia Beach, Va., Christopher Michael Smith of Jacksonville, Fla., Ashley Danielle and Allyson Elizabeth Smith, both of Raleigh, N.C. One great-granddaughter, Charlotte Grace Smith of Jacksonville, Fla., also survives.

 

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A graveside service will follow on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Providence Cemetery, Miles, Va.
