There have been no recent reports of livestock being killed in Gloucester County, according to a senior animal control official. However, a brindle pit bull was shot and killed, as it was attacking one of the cows on Gordon Llewellyn’s farm near Glenns a little over a week ago.

Due to recent reports of livestock being killed in the northern portion of Gloucester, the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors was asked to hold a meeting to inform the public on coyotes, which could have been killers of Llewellyn’s 23 cattle. The forum, scheduled for Monday, March 28, will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the T.C. Walker Elementary School auditorium.

Steve Baranek, Gloucester’s senior deputy animal control officer, reported to county supervisors Feb. 15 that nearly two dozen cattle had been killed at Llewellyn’s farm over about a three-week period.
