Manuel “Mike” Garcia Lopez, age 84, of Mathews, died on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. Manuel was born on January 11, 1940 in Cambados, Spain, to Francisco Alverez and Asuncion Lois Rebollido. He was one of 20 children. He worked as a stone mason. He enjoyed watching cowboy movies and soccer, listening to Christmas music, and eating fresh seafood with a glass of wine. But, what he loved most of all was spending time with his grandsons. Manuel is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Elisa Gillespie; son, Michael Lopez, and grandsons, Keinan Triplett and Liam Gillespie. In memory of Manuel, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
