Collette Mann is the featured artist for October at the Bay School Community Arts Center, 279 Main Street, Mathews.A mixed media artist, Mann creates her mosaics using glass, polymer clay, repurposed jewelry, broken dishes, abandoned windows, beach glass, and pretty much anything she finds, said a press release.
Mann is inspired by the old and mysterious Eastern European icons, but modernizes them so they’re more inclusive and open to interpretation. Her artwork uses symbolic images to express a mystical idea that can become unique to each individual viewing piece, said the release.
The mosaic exhibit will be on display throughout October in the center’s Art Speaks Gallery. For more information and to shop the collection online, visit bayschool-arts.com.
