Made in Mathews recognizes student art contest winners

The winners of the Made in Mathews Open Studio Tour Student Art Contest were announced during an arts reception for students, parents, studio tour artists, and classmates held on Nov. 17 at the Bay School.
Founded and organized by Tammy Rollins, the contest and accompanying exhibit recognize works by art students of local art teachers Katie Witowski at Thomas Hunter Middle School, Rachel Morris at Mathews High School, and Jennifer Schroeder at the Bay School.
The 29 entries were judged by Open Studio Tour artists Lynn Abrams and Karen Pittman.
High school winners were: Adelle Hudgins, first place; Shay Conrow, second place; Saniya Smith, third place; and Hannah Stillwaggon, honorable mention.
Middle school winners were: Marley Brock, first place; Mio Marrero, second place; Diane Howard, third place; and Aurora Celona, honorable mention.
