Machicomoco to hold program on pollinators, Earth Day celebration

A busy weekend is in store at Machicomoco State Park, Hayes, beginning with a pollinator garden tabletop program on Friday night and Saturday’s Earth Day celebration.
From 6-7 p.m. Friday, the park will host the pollinator program at the campground. Participants will learn about the decline of pollinators and the essential role they play in our ecosystem. Participants will also be provided with tips on starting and maintaining a pollinator garden to help support pollinators.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, the park will host its Earth Day celebration with the recognized Tribes of Virginia and other event partners promoting environmental stewardship and outdoor recreation. Hungry Hungry Arrow and On The Flip Side food trucks will be around for participants to purchase food from.
