A memorial Mass for MacDaniel Williams, 89, of Petersburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, in the Church of the Sacred Heart, New Bohemia. He died June 27, 2014.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946. He studied industrial psychology and behavioral sciences at several universities, eventually earning a bachelor of arts degree from Upper Iowa University.
Williams taught school in Franklin County and Rocky Mount, served as a Methodist minister, and worked at Reynolds Metals and McGovern Buick in Richmond before settling into a 38-year career as a civilian employee with the U.S. Army Logistics Management College at Fort Lee. He served in several capacities, including Chief of Instructor Training and Development and Director of Education-Logistics Assistance Program Worldwide.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jacqueline Wyatt Williams.
Survivors include his wife of nine years, Barbara Walters Williams of Mathews; four children, and two grandchildren.
