A. Lynn Ball Massengill Stoots Gravelle is enjoying a well-deserved peace after her sudden death on Jan. 26, 2023 at age 74. Most recently a resident of Enon, Virginia, Lynn is a graduate of Mathews High School (valedictorian) and Madison College (now James Madison University) (magna cum laude). She retired from a career as a special education elementary school teacher. She enjoyed caring for others, cooking, ballroom dancing, and gardening. She had great compassion for others and was well loved. Her loss will be felt throughout the communities she touched.

Lynn was predeceased by her father, Burley C. Ball Sr., and her brother, Burley Jr. She is survived by her husband, R. Everett Gravelle; her children, Jennifer Meadows (Glen Goodsell), Carlton Stoots (Sheri), Mechele Halder, and Dawn Dunning (Brian), and her grandchildren, Jasper Goodsell, William, Mary, Madison, Carson, and Melissa Stoots, and Ainsley and Shannon Dunning. Lynn is also survived by her mother, Virginia D. Ball; her brother, Louis G. Ball (Diane); her sister-in-law, Joanna Ball, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be a small private family service to be followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bethel United Methodist, c/o Nancy Rowe, P.O. Box 1104, Mathews Va. 23109 or a charity of your choice.
