Members of Gloucester High School’s Future Farmers of America chapter attended the State Fair of Virginia to participate in multiple competitions where several students placed, including Emma Lynch who earned first overall in the horticulture demonstration.
Savanna Harris placed second overall in the horticulture demonstration and both Lynch and Harris are receiving scholarships from the fair.
Natalie Walke and Lexi Spangler placed ninth overall in the agriculture demonstration. Walke also competed in the agriscience poster competition.
As a team, Gabriel Hypes, Addisyn Bilodeau, Delisha Minor, Braxten Abelar, Faith Sweat, Lynch, Leland Webb-Dyson and Graecin Waller competed in the Forestry Field Day competition. Team members sawed, rolled and threw logs, among other events.
