LUELLA HOGGE MANNING

Luella Hogge Manning, a lifelong resident of Gloucester County, age 59, died at her home in Hayes on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022. Luella was a graduate of Gloucester High School class of ’81, retired after 33 years from Bill Hudgins, GMC in Gloucester, and a member of Severn Church in Naxera. Luella served eight years on the Social Services Board and was extremely compassionate in assisting children, as well as devoting 30 years to raising funds for the American Cancer Society. The love of her inner soul consisted of her husband Ken, sunrises on Haywood’s Creek, lounging on any beach, and their pets “Bella,” “Callie” and “Patches.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Joyce Shackelford Hogge. Survived by her husband, Ken Manning; sister, Donna Lisa Green; nieces, Shannon Smith (Travis), Crystal Knudsen (Ashton), Hayden, Carter, Scarlett; brother, John E. Hogge (Melissa), Taylor Hall, Greyson, Faith Marie Hogge, Morgan Hogge, Elliott Hogge (Kelsey), Brayden, Aurora, Cael, Drake, Kevin Tabb (Beth Hogge), Jake (Kayla), Owen North, Travis, and Shandi Wright, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. The family received friends Tuesday, Dec. 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Bill West was held in Severn Church, 9066 Robins Neck Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022. Entombment followed at Windsor Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum, 80 Soles Lane, Dutton, Va. 23050.
