Lucille Stevens Millen, 95, departed from this life on January 25, 2024. Lucille was born in Sampson County, North Carolina, on June 2, 1928 to Preston T. and Ella Mae Stevens. She married Tommie E. Millen on May 9, 1944. In 1956, the family moved to Virginia and started a new home in Newport News, where together they raised six children, Carolyn Millen of Clinton, N.C., Dallas Millen (Sharon) of Gloucester, Nancy Bolton of Gloucester, Ira Millen (Jessie) of York County, Stewart Millen of Hampton, Eugene Millen (Kim) of Gloucester. They later moved to Gloucester County, where Tommie passed in 1983. A few years later, Lucille moved back home to Clinton, North Carolina, where she resided until her health started to diminish. She then moved back to York County to live with a son and daughter-in-law. As her health continued to fail, she moved to Walter Reed Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester County, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents; her only sibling, Patty Andrews of California; granddaughter, Candice, and great-grandson, Caleb. She is survived by four generations of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who enjoyed visiting her and many of whom were with her in her final days. Lucille loved her very large family, but she also loved her many friends and extended family in North Carolina. She never stopped talking about going back to Clinton. Her journey in this life has now gone full circle and she will return to her beloved Clinton.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to service at Clinton Community Church, 1901 Sunset Avenue, Clinton, N.C. 28328.
