A photography contest, “Loving Mathews,” to capture the special features of Mathews County will be part of May Faire for the first time.
May Faire, a festival sponsored by the Mathews Historical Museum, will be held on the historic court green and at the museum at 200 Main Street on Saturday, May 4.
A news release said entries in the photography contest “must capture Mathews County and what is special about living or visiting here.”
The contest is open to amateurs and professionals and is taking entries in three categories: rural living images, wildlife including fish, birds, mollusks, etc., and landscape/waterscape.
Photos will be displayed at May Faire and throughout May at the museum, the release said.
