Lost: On the road from Hookemfare on Wednesday morning, a telescope bag, lead colored. The bag contained clothing, shoes, razor and looking glass. Finder will return to Eddy Carey, Cardinal P.O. A liberal reward will be given.

Trying to escape capture by the Patrol Boat CG-189, the “Nomad,” a former submarine chaser, ran hard aground on a sand bar at the mouth of Hungars Creek on the bayside, opposite Bird’s Nest, on Eastern Shore, last Friday night. The boat was loaded with 250 kegs and 250 drums of alcohol.
The “Nomad,” which hails from Philadelphia, was then taken by the CG-189. The exciting chase that started near Wolf Trap Lighthouse on the Western Shore, after running the “Nomad” aground, the crew set fire to the boat and attempted to make their get-away.
