Local students named to CBGS Director’s List

The Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School for Marine and Environmental Science has recognized students throughout the region—including nine from Gloucester, 11 from Mathews and five from Middlesex high schools—for qualifying for the program’s Director’s List for the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year.
In order to receive this recognition, students must earn a 3.6 grade point average or higher. “Their hard work, determination, and commitment to growth is to be commended,” a release stated.
Gloucester High School students named to the list were: Michael Asnicar, Nathaniel Carter, Jacob Garrett, Ailin Harpole, Wilton Hudgins, Joshua Mayer, Lilly Riffe, Ian Walters and Paige Willis.
Mathews High students honored include: Zoe Camp, Andrew Greve, Grayson Griffith, Savannah Hartlove, Mary Hos-podar, Ethan Hudgins, Jaxon McDonald, Madeline Miller, Katherine Murphy, Clay Wal-ker and Suki Zheng.
