Local, statewide races on Tuesday’s ballot

While the campaigns for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general will dominate ballots across the commonwealth (as well as TV commercial airtime), voters in Gloucester and Mathews will also be faced with a number of choices in contested county races when they head to the polls on Tuesday.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.

In Gloucester, voters will have the opportunity to select candidates for the at-large, York and Petsworth district seats on the county’s board of supervisors.

Republican candidate John Meyer Jr. will face off against independent Grant Keller for the at-large seat, which is currently held by Louise Theberge. Theberge lost the June Republican primary election to Meyer.

In the Petsworth district race, independents Michael Jenkins and Michael Winebarger are opponents for the seat, which is currently held by John Northstein, who is not seeking reelection.
