Local ‘Pray for America’ event to be held Saturday

This Saturday, Beth Lewis will hold a local Pray for America event in Mathews which coincides with other prayer events that will also be held that day.
Inspired by Franklin Graham’s prayer march that is scheduled for this Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. in Washington, D.C., Lewis decided to hold a local event since she could not make it to Washington this weekend. Another group, The Return, which is led by Jonathan Cahn, will also be observing a day of prayer in Washington this coming weekend.
Lewis’s Pray for America event will be held at Port Fun, Mathews, from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday. “None of this is political,” said Lewis. She said that this event will be “a time for quiet prayer.”
She will have a few chairs set up at the park Saturday and she will also have some prayer suggestions available.
Attendees do not have to stay the whole time. They can simply come and pray for a few minutes and leave. Lewis asks that people respect social distancing and wear a mask when needed.
