The 2024 Virginia Commonwealth Games croquet event was held late last month at the Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club in Hartfield.
Hartfield resident Macey White won the championship and another Hartfield resident, Nancy Crouch, won the gold medal for first flight.
Silver medalist in the championship was Brian Hovis from Kentucky. Silver medalist in the first flight was Todd Marshall of Boulder, Colorado, and bronze medalist in first flight was John Woods of White Stone.
This is the 35th year of the Virginia Commonwealth Games. The games are run April to December annually depending on the sport, and are open all ages and skill levels. From archery to wrestling, the Games offer sports competition venues for 45+ different Olympic and Pan American sports.
