Barbara Brecher of North-umberland County, a fiber artist and owner of I Felt Fine Design, has been invited to participate, for the second time, in the Smithsonian Craft2Wear show in Washington, D.C.
This is considered one of the finest wearable art shows in the country, a release said. It features American contemporary wearable craft and design including jewelry, leather, and clothing.
Brecher will show her silk and wool one-of-a-kind fiber work which she transforms into jackets, wraps and scarves. Over the last 20 years, she has worked to develop a felting process and dyeing techniques. She layers fibers and silk on a base of silk and attaches everything by wet felting the materials together with fine merino wool.
