Local Episcopal churches produce weekly Bible study podcast

Ware and Abingdon Episcopal churches in Gloucester and Kingston Episcopal Parish in Mathews have joined forces to produce a weekly podcast Bible study called “The Wabingston Clergy Klatch.”
Each of the churches’ rectors or senior pastors gather weekly to discuss the scripture readings for the following Sunday. This conversation is recorded and then published.
The scripture readings are the preceding Sunday’s lectionary readings, used in most Christian lectionary-based denominations. It includes an Old Testament reading, a New Testament epistle, and a Gospel passage. The clergy members hope that this will be a tool for Bible study, particularly by those who work and may not have the flexibility to attend an in-person gathering.
This Sunday, Dec. 6, the podcast will host its first guest appearance: the Rev. John Pouchot, Petsworth Baptist Church’s senior pastor. The Wabingston clergy members hope to invite a local pastor each month to join them in their conversation.
