Election season is finally here, as the first of several candidate forums in Gloucester and Mathews counties will be held next week.
On Wednesday, Sept. 13, the Gloucester Branch of the NAACP and Mathews PATH (People Aging in Their Homes) each holds a forum. The following night, Thursday, Sept. 14, a forum for Mathews supervisors and sheriff will be held at the Gwynn’s Island Civic League.
The Gloucester NAACP forum will be held at 6 p.m. at the T.C. Walker Education Center, 6099 T.C. Walker Road. All candidates for state and Gloucester County offices have been invited. The event will be recorded and made available for later viewing for those unable to attend.
PATH will hold forums on two consecutive Wednesdays, Sept. 13 and 20, at the Cobbs Creek Arts Center, 61 Cobbs Creek Lane, Cobbs Creek. Both will be held from 6-8 p.m.
The Sept. 13 PATH forum will be for candidates for the Mathews Board of Supervisors, while the Sept. 20 forum will be for Mathews School Board hopefuls.
