Local band heads west in search of fame

For the Drew Ballantyne Band, Colorado is calling. 
The group that has rocked local venues such as Southwind Café and Yorktown Pub is looking to grow its audience with an upcoming westward relocation.
Composed of front man and band namesake Drew Ballantyne, bass player Logan Parsons, Colorado-based musician Braydon Peterson and guitarist Clayton Ware of Mathews, the members have many miles between themselves and stardom but believe they have the talent to make it.
The band will play a series of gigs on their way to Colorado, and is eyeing cities including Memphis, Nashville, Kansas City, Asheville and Fort Collins (where they will eventually reside) as potential destinations on their tour.
The band’s style is, as Ballantyne put it, ever-evolving free expression. It performs songs across all genres and at its gigs, classic rock staples such as The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” and Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” are punctuated ...
