LLOYD BACON BLAKE

Lloyd Bacon Blake, age 95, of Glen Allen, died on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. Bacon was born on April 5, 1929, in Perrin to the late Lloyd Jackson and Susie Diggs Blake. He was a gentle soul living most of his life in Bena and loved living on Sarah’s Creek surrounded by family and friends. Bacon had many fond memories of his youth harvesting oysters with his father on their boat the ‘Mary Colman.’ Years later, he enjoyed taking his wife, children, grandchildren, and cousins on boat rides, early morning fishing trips, and crabbing on the dock. He loved gardening and sharing his fresh vegetables with neighbors and friends. Bacon retired from Public Works at the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station. He served as a Trustee and was a lifelong member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. He loved helping others and volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years after retirement. Bacon is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia; children, Susan Beller (Scott), Beth Kadi (Naji), Lloyd and wife; and seven grandchildren, Jared Beller, Sarah Beller, Gabriel Kadi, Daniel Kadi, Nadia Kadi, and two granddaughters. The family will receive friends at Bethlehem United Methodist Church on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 1:30-2:15 p.m., followed by the funeral service, conducted by Pastors Chuck Winner and Carol Bookwalter, beginning at 2:30. The burial will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery. In memory of Bacon, contributions may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 185, Bena, Va. 23018.
