Living nativity scenes

CHARLIE KOENIG / GAZETTE-JOURNAL A living nativity scene, complete with animals in a real manger setting, was held on Sunday afternoon at Abingdon Episcopal Church, White Marsh. Portraying Joseph and Mary were Brandon and Shannon McMullen with their infant daughter Owynn filling in for the baby Jesus. Ty Byrne, Finley West and Charlotte Fielding, from left, played the role of angels and Kate Warfel, not pictured, was a shepherd.

CHARLIE KOENIG / GAZETTE-JOURNALThe Gwynn’s Island Church of the Nazarene held its first of two living nativity scenes on Tuesday night at the church on Cricket Hill Road in Hudgins. Pastor Dave McKnight and his flock will return from 7-9 tonight to present the nativity one final time before Christmas. At left, portraying the three wise men were Scott and Tracey Wood and Diane Riley (with Cody the dog standing in for one of the sheep). Tammy Hudgins and David Fletcher played the parts of Mary and Joseph, while McKnight, Sandra Williams and Paulette Ewell were shepherds watching over their flock.
