Brett Lindsay of Gloucester and his baseball team, the Jabolenc Blesk, ended the 2023 season by taking the Liga title in the Czech Republic.
The Blesk swept Skokani Olomouc, 2-0, and also swept Sabat Praha, 2-0, winning back-to-back titles. Lindsay went seven for 17 in the playoffs with a double and three RBIs. Lindsay played shortstop.
For the season, including the playoffs, Lindsay was 62-149 for a .416 batting average. Lindsay also had 14 doubles, seven home runs, 35 RBIs and scored 48 runs. He struck out eight times and walked 21 times. During the second phase of the season, he led the league in home runs and hits and was second in batting average, doubles and run scored.
Lindsay is currently coaching baseball at Eastern Mennonite University on Adam Posey’s staff where he was a five-year starter for the team. Lindsay is hoping to field offers from overseas’ teams as well as in the United States for the upcoming season.
