Linda F. Miller of Gloucester and Susan, passed away on Aug. 7, 2019. Her strong faith, which served her all of her life, left no doubt to her family and friends that she is now in the arms of the Lord.
Linda was born May 25, 1952 to Carrie and Harold Field and lived in Landenberg, Pennsylvania, for much of her life. She attended and graduated from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, and the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg. Her lifelong passion was English literacy and reading. She moved to North Carolina and Virginia as an adult, working in social services and with the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the area of disability rights and direct outreach services.
Linda is survived by her sister, Beverly McLennan, and brothers, John Field and Robert Field. In addition to many other family members, she asked a special remembrance of her niece, Jill Winterling and her husband Mike, and their two daughters, Mackenzie and Kylie.
She is also survived by her special friends, Melanie Smith Shelton, Celeste Dudley, Sandy Mottershead, Karen Rundlett and Mike Ernest.
Special thanks to Pastors Chris and Doug from Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Cobbs Creek for their support and to the wonderful Riverside Hospice nurses and staff, Theresa, Samantha, Angie, Jennifer and Jessica.
Linda was an example of caring and kindness. Although true to her own beliefs, she respected the beliefs of others. She was a truly loving person and we were honored to have been her family and friends.
A private family gathering to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at her Pennsylvania family home in September.
