Lillian Lang Shackelford, 79, of Hayes, passed away June 15, 2014 at her home.

Lillian, a devoted mother and grandmother, loved being with family, cooking and especially canning vegetables from the garden.

Lillian was kind and generous to her family, friends and neighbors, and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Shackelford, and her parents, Ollie and Mandie Lang.  

She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Hathaway and husband Mark, Tammy Shackelford, Sandra Wilkins and husband Rob; a son, Neil Shackelford; two grandchildren, Devon Shackelford and Alex Adams; two sisters, Ruby Myrick and Lois Ascari, and a special niece, Sherry Serafim.

Graveside funeral service conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. Friends assembled at the cemetery. The family received friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
