Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will present its annual Oldies Show this Saturday at Mathews High School. Doors open to the school’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., with the show starting at 8.
Saturday’s show will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers as well as some guest stars performing hits from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s.
“This is one of the most requested shows we do each year,” said Opry manager Lynda Smith. Cast members will sing old familiar songs as “Today, I Started Loving You Again,” “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” “You Can’t Hurry Love” and “Dancing Queen.” William Earl Sadler will perform his rendition of Jerry Lee Lewis’s “Great Balls of Fire.”
