Li’l Ole Opry kicks off 44th season Saturday

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will open its 44th season of country music shows on Saturday with an “All Star Opry” featuring the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers.
The group will again perform at the 750-seat Harry Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8.
Ticket prices remain at $12 for all adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under and can be purchased in advance at the Mathews Visitor Center and Beach Bum BBQ in Mathews and Marketplace Antiques on Route 17 in Hayes. As always, tickets are also available at the door on show night.
The Opry welcomes back to the stage past star Josh Grigsby, a 2012 Donk’s Theater Talent Search winner. Josh, with wife, Crystal, performs across the state with his award-winning bluegrass band, County Line. His high tenor vocals are reminiscent of Vince Gill, a release stated.
