In the summer of 1987, Gloucester’s normally peaceful White Marsh Plantation was bustling with activity as a major motion production was filmed there. The movie was originally titled “Phoebe” but released the following year as “Zelly and Me.” One of the stars of the production was Isabella Rossellini (Phoebe’s nanny, Zelly), at left, who is shown rehearsing a scene with Alexandra Johnes (who played the young girl Phoebe) and, at right, director Tina Rathborne. The movie also included David Lynch (who passed away last week) who appeared as Willie the butler, Rossellini’s character’s lover.
