Library to remain closed until May 22

Gloucester Library, Main Street Center, will remain closed until Wednesday, May 22, as construction crews will need extra time to complete the current portion of the renovations inside that building, according to a news release.
As renovations to the library’s main branch are expected to be completed by May 31, the building was initially scheduled to be closed to the public May 14-15 and May 20-21; however, staff was notified late Tuesday by the contractor that extra time will be required. Curbside service will remain available during the dates the building will be closed.
The current phase of construction includes removing the current circulation desk and constructing the new circulation desk in a different area of the library.
