Editor, Gazette-Journal:Severn Church would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to our community for the support of our very quickly-planned project to assist those impacted by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina.When we learned about the opportunity to partner with a church in N.C. delivering much-needed supplies, we took a leap of faith and reached out to our community, largely through social media, appealing for help. Thank you to everyone who provided support in terms of boxes, tape, and word of mouth requests for supplies. Boy, did folks deliver! The donations came in, and they kept coming for three days, even after we wrapped up on the final day with four filled-to-the-brim vehicles.The team at Bill Hudgins Automotive GMC generously made this entire endeavor possible. The dealership graciously “hosted” the collection, allowing us to set up front and center on 17, right at their entrance to facilitate drop-offs easily.
