Letter: Wittman doesn’t have your back

Congressman Wittman does not have your back. Do you make less than $157,500? Your Congressman, Rob Wittman, just voted to raise your taxes on average by $790, according to the Institute on Taxation and Public Policy. However, if you are fortunate enough to make more than $360,000, your taxes will go down an average of $36,320.
What about the MAGA rich? Elon Musk has $38 billion in U.S. government contracts (conflict of interest anybody?). His net worth increased $203 billion last year (about $554 million a day). Tesla, the most valuable automaker in the world valued at over $1 trillion, did not pay any federal income tax last year. Tesla’s annual financial report shows the company enjoyed $2.3 billion of U.S. income in 2024 on which it reports precisely zero current federal income tax.
