At the May 2 Gloucester County School Board meeting, one would have seen speaker after speaker asking for a delay in choosing a new superintendent until after the next GCSB is seated in November. Why is this so important, you ask? Because the current make-up of the school board fears the replacement of their current majority, all of whom support CRT and the other issues below.
After a dozen speakers’ comments were heard, one school board member moved that the vote on the new superintendent be delayed until after the new board is seated. It was seconded. After two members took a five-minute delay for a break, a vote was taken. The vote was four against waiting, and three for waiting. The decided to continue the rush to hire a new superintendent in spite of the 90 percent of speakers who were against it.
