Editor, Gazette-Journal:
As an honorably discharged veteran and sole survivor of my father who was killed in action in World War II, I will never vote for a person who detests and disrespects the U.S. military as much as Trump does, nor should any veteran or active-duty member who joined the service and took the oath to defend our country from foreign and domestic enemies.
Trump, a five-time draft dodger, does not want to appear with wounded military, believes captured U.S. military members are not heroes, believes those who died serving their country are suckers and losers, believes the Presidential Medal of Freedom is equal to the Medal of Honor, and who recently desecrated the Arlington National Cemetery and all those heroes buried there for a campaign photo-op, wants to be our next Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. military.
