It is my sincerest honor to endorse Marie Walls as the next Commonwealth’s Attorney for Mathews County. It has been a privilege to work with Mrs. Walls for the past two years as the chief investigator with the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office. I am truly thankful for her leadership, guidance, and experience. I am a better detective because of my time with her.
Mrs. Walls has successfully prosecuted some of our most difficult crimes to include murders, rapes, and crimes against children. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for her opponent. It takes a special person to navigate these heartbreaking, horrifying, and frustrating cases. Her opponent will be learning how to be a prosecutor while on the job if elected. This is not fair to the community. Experience and resilience are a must. An elected Commonwealth’s Attorney must be both a fighter and an impartial seeker of the truth. Being a nice person is simply not enough.
