Letter: Uphold true values

The upcoming school board election is not merely about choosing a representative. It’s about deciding the direction and values we wish to instill in our community. My name is Jenn Baker and I am running for the school board to restore integrity, trust, and the genuine voice of Gloucester County in our educational system.
It is deeply disturbing when a current board member such as Troy Andersen has been judicially found to have deceived the public by falsely certifying a closed meeting. This is not the leadership Gloucester deserves, and it surely raises the question of what else is being kept form us. Trust is foundational in any leadership role, especially when it concerns the futures of our children. Once that trust is broken, it becomes increasingly challenging to rebuild.
Equally alarming is that nearly 60 percent of the funds supporting Mr. Andersen’s campaign stem from an outside special interest group, “We the People for Education,” based in Richmond. Th...
