Editor, Gazette-Journal:
Recently my husband fell in the middle of the night. After a 5 minute debate on what to do, I called 911 to request rescue squad assistance. The 911 operator was very professional and helpful. Since we live in the Harcum area she indicated it might take a while to get someone out to our home. But the big red rescue vehicle was in our driveway within 20 minutes.
James and Melissa (so sorry I didn’t catch their last names) were on call that night/early morning. Both of these individuals were very sensitive to our concerns and very professional in doing whatever needed to be done for my husband. Our bathroom is on the second floor and required taking him down a steep flight of stairs in their “chair.” They took their time getting down the stairs never stumbling or hitting the walls of the narrow stairway.
Since I don’t drive at night, they allowed me to ride in the vehicle to the ER. Melissa asked me how I was going to get home. That hadn’t occurred to me to think...
