Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I thought the citizens might be interested to know that Congress and Senate took recess right until after the November 2nd elections. So they could campaign! I was calling my congressman to leave a message regarding an issue that is important to me and found out about this.
I’d say two-year terms are a complete waste. Once your congressman or congresswoman is elected, they are pretty much back on the campaign trail a year later. Also, perhaps two-term limits might help. Then at least the last term an elected official is in office, he won’t be wasting our tax dollars running for office again. I’m just saying! Two four-year terms maximum for elected officers.
