Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I am writing to commend you for the editorial last week concerning bullying in today’s culture. Thank you for pointing out that television programming sets a terrible example about the disregard for other people in speech and actions. The language on talk shows and sitcoms, and even the commercials for them, show the very worst side of life.
How do we expect people to act any better? Whatever happened to respect for others and even self-respect? Why would we even want to look at such stuff or listen to that kind of language? And whatever happened to just doing something because it’s the right thing to do—or not doing something because it would be the wrong thing to do?
Thank you again for pointing out a need in our lives today to treat others as we would like to be treated, and maybe bullying and other actions today would improve.
