I am very pleased to inform everyone that every family that registered with the Salvation Army in Gloucester and all the families called adopted families (families with low income that do not qualify for welfare, but are working families who met all the qualifications for support by the Salvation Army) had their requests filled this year. Now to answer the question asked of me: Yes, all the children received toys for Christmas.
I wish to thank all the members of the Marine Corps League Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317, American Legion Post 75, American Legion Riders, Salvation Army and all the Salvation Army volunteers who sorted and distributed the toys collected for the Toys for Tots program, and most of all, to the people of the Middle Peninsula who donated all the toys. Through all your efforts, we collected and distributed a total of 3,535 toys for needy families throughout the Middle Peninsula this year.
