I’ve known Katie Thompson for several years through the Resource Council and MidPen Vote. She’s a level-headed, hard-working woman who looks at each issue and challenge from all sides. She talks with folks about the issues and seeks their views. I see her as a very unselfish, concerned person who is very interested in helping residents. Affordable housing is an issue that is very close to her heart. She also believes the school board should be left to manage the schools, something those board members were elected to do. She is a visionary who wants to see Gloucester flourish, yet believes that growth must be managed well.
It’s been a privilege to work alongside her and see that she really is a worker bee and not just a lot of talk. She’s always been the first one to volunteer to do whatever needs to be done, whether it’s setting up for a speaker luncheon, or heading up a committee for the resource council.
