Regarding the Hole in the Wall restaurant on Gwynn’s Island, two letters to the editor last week directed a host of insults at two members of the Mathews Board of Supervisors. The letters accused them of attempting to escape responsibilities, making decisions behind closed doors, having a personal agenda, having a hate for two outsider-business owners, bullying or power tripping, directing unrelenting persecution at these owners, and blaming them for the decrease in Mathews population, etc. This is not a personal issue; it is strictly business by the entire BOS.
The BOS voted unanimously on how to address these critical issues, including hiring an independent structural engineering firm (The Structures Group, Inc.) for a second opinion.
